Not a pink and purple huffy bike that I first learned how to ride on and not my 5 speed that I spend my late elementary school years/jr high years riding next to Katherine Dinnerman and Julie Issacson rocking out to the radios we so lovingly tied with shoe strings to our bikes so we were cool like the other kids who had the real "Radio Bikes". (This was a big deal in the 6th grade)..I distinctly remember belting out the Fugues “Killing Me Softly..we thought we were sooo bad!
I want a beach cruiser..preferably baby blue, sea foam green or natural in color. Really any one will do but make sure it has a basket attached to it so I can put my books and little treasures I find on my adventures. So what brought me to this since those who know me know that I lack the skill of what should we call it…coordination? We’ll I suppose it’s the romance of it all..I picture myself riding the bike to friends houses, to the park and waving to the people I pass by.
There's an episode of Gilmore Girls in which Lorelei gets a bike and rides around town all episode running her errands. Lorelei so effortlessly depicts exactly the type of riding adventures I will come to expect once I get this said bike…
Then there's Summer from one of my favorite movies '500 Days of Summer'
